So it begins
a door opens
and the man steps in
He could
Turn a secret
I know there’s
a smile
hiding
Sell me some
Trouble
is brewing
Intoxicating
I float to him
by the whisps
of the day.

Her toes are numb
She cannot recount
The evening’s footprints
Words twist the tongue
She grinds
She knows the man
With his teeth
The mark he dared to leave
The clearest blue
Is deceiving
Cast your eyes away
The red light
On his skin
Here come the foray
and then –
The suffering sleep
He is awoken to his party –
and the appointment he must keep.

Poor boy
how little you know
now
You call my name
without infliction
but awareness
would serve
you best
call me
The Minx
don’t call me
