Monopoly Money

This dangerous game
a calculated play
with a careful hand
a finger snap
to attention
for joy of the ego

(to remember)

It’s a capital Risk
swapping cards
under the table
to fuck the system
the House
innocently unawares

and this-

Rather reminiscent
of the old rules
(never followed –┬ábut)
noted now
when the selfish ego
counts cards
and offers for (un)worth
Monopoly money

but it’s really –

the Second Chance Draw
stolen, already in hand
thrown at the table
to call the bluff
the Capital R
before game begins
it’s already
face-up, laid out
challenge accepted
and playing
for ego’s secret win.
